      Description

Rosewood Cottage is situated on 2 wooded acres, located on the “Quietside” of Mount Desert Island. The property is secluded, set away from the road and directly across the street from the ocean. There is a ocean breeze with a limited view of the water and Swan’s Island which is a short ferry ride away.A small brook runs beside the property offering the sound of running water in the spring that becomes a trickle by the dog days of summer. Newly constructed this spring is a 400 square foot deck that wraps around the back of the property offering an ideal spot to relax.A short walk to the ocean, the house is minutes from Acadia National Park and approximately a 20-30 minute drive to Bar Harbor. It was built in the 1940’s and much of the cottage remains intentionally unchanged. If you are looking for a rustic, authentic, vintage summer cottage, built by native Mainers on Mount Desert Island, in a quiet location, away from crowded tourist areas, this is your place.
