Be sure to take a walk along the historic San Clemente Pier where you will see fishermen casting their nets and if lucky, you’ll spot some dolphins or whales. Grab some clam chowder while at the base of the pier or stop by Fisherman’s Restaurant. Great surfing at this beach is a given. Note: Dogs are not allowed on the beach or on the pier, but there are great walking trails for Fido all along the beach. (See San Clemente Coastal Trail – directions) While on the walking trail, keep your eyes open for hidden painted rocks, painted by local artists!
