Description
This cottage was designed as a year around home with central heat. It provides a quiet place to enjoy your vacation while being near a number of attractions and support services. It was not impacted by the July, 2023 flood. The interior can be all on one level. There is one step onto the porch and one step from the porch to the interior of the cottage. There is also a rainy day room in the basement with card table and foosball table. There are two bedrooms, each with a Queen sized bed, closet/or a bureau. There are two full bathrooms, one with tub shower combination with a washer and dryer and one bathroom with a shower only. The fully equipped kitchen with electric stove & oven, full sized refrigerator, microwave, coffee maker, toaster, etc. looks out on the west pond. The dining and living area has hardwood floors and views of both ponds (leaves permitting). During the occasional hot weather, good cross ventilation is enhanced by window fans. Fiber optic 300 mps internet access and local phone service, a 50″ Roku HD TV with blue ray player, and some DVDs are provided. The fireplace is for ambiance only with no fires allowed. There is a fire pit on the grassy dock area. There is a charcoal grill near the cottage. The screened-in front porch provides an alternate dining, sitting or computer work area with a view of the ponds. Twin Ponds was created by a glacier (10,000 to 14,000 years ago) and is about 45 feet deep at the deepest point. There is a grassy boat dock and sandy play area. There is great fishing (VT fishing license required), a diving float and two boats available. Typical of the rural part of Central Vermont we have a full array of wild animals to include deer, black bears, eagles, loons, turkeys, turtles, etc. Our 228 acre Christmas tree farm is available for hiking, bird watching and a complimentary Christmas tree farm tour can be scheduled.
