Winter Park Short-Term Rental Registration #005150This comfortable and relaxing studio is located on the 1st floor having the best and most convenient access to the indoor / outdoor pool, Jacuzzi’s, Spa, locker rooms and gym. The restaurant and wine bar are just down the stairs on the level down from us. Access to the ski Corridor run is just up the elevator and across. Ski out directly to the Zephyr lift at the Winter park base area; ski in from the base of Mary Jane. A secured storage room for skis and boots is located inside the 5th floor door so you won’t need to take them back to the room every time you ski.You won’t have any morning or late afternoon ski boot traffic in this quiet location just up the elevator from the parking garage.We have a queen-sized Murphy bed with tempurpedic mattress and a sofa-sleeper for two additional people. The decor is warm, comfortable, always Extremely clean, including a clean, thermostatically-controlled gas fireplace. The kitchen is fully-equipped, with cookware, utensils, knives, dishes and glassware, a full-sized refrigerator/freezer, a glass-topped range/oven, and dishwasher. The 65″ HD TV receives Comcast cable with premium channels and has an easy-to-use DVD player connected.The unit also features a full bath with a shower tub. The large private patio area leads you to a view overlooking the the pool and hot tubs, with a great southeastern view of the beautiful pines covering the mountainsides nearby, all the way up to treeline and a view of the Continental Divide. The building has free wi-fi Internet access.IRON HORSE RESORT:Location and Skiing Access: The Iron Horse Resort’s ski bridge to the Corridor Run is located outside the 5th floor, half way between the base of Mary Jane ski area and the base of Winter Park. Skiers ski out, down the Corridor Run to the main Zephyr lift at the base of Winter Park and ski in from the base of Mary Jane. In the Spring, Summer, and early Fall the Corridor is usually a dry walking path, with easy access to the Winter Park base area.The Iron Horse Resort is actually IN the Arapahoe National Forest! The property is surrounded by tall pines – which can be seen in the pictures posted for this unit. The location offers seclusion from traffic and the base area – with the Winter Park base area just one-third of a mile (one-half a kilometer) away.The Iron Horse is a true resort offering a fully-enclosed, secure parking garage, an indoor-outdoor pool, two oversized outdoor hot tubs, spa facilities, a complete fitness center with TV, adjacent, fully-equipped locker rooms with HOT, clean steam rooms, garage parking, and an on-site ski shop – including equipment rentals and all kinds of Winter gear and clothing.THE SKI AREA:Colorado is famous for its its amazing array of skiing options. Winter Park offers three main peaks, with a total skiable area of 3,060 acres for downhill skiing, snowboarding, and even some runs available for ski-biking at night! There are 143 trails available to skiers of all ability levels. Winter Park usually gets much more snow than most other ski areas in the state.The Mary Jane ski area – which is connected to the Winter Park area – has some of the best mogul skiing in North America, and terrain that is perfect for intermediate to advanced skiers.Winter Park is a town that has very comfortable, relaxed, authentic feel. A wide variety of restaurants are available, ranging from the basics, like McDonalds and Subway, to mid-scale bistros and brewpubs, to fine dining. Great barbecue, handcrafted pizzas, gourmet hot dogs, steaks, seafood, and Asian foods can all be found in downtown Winter Park. La Collina Restaurant – open at Iron Horse during the Winter ski season – consistently receives very positive reviews from its guests.SUMMERTIME ACTIVITIES:Surrounded by the Arapahoe Forest, Iron Horse has a very pleasing setting for summertime visits. Gas grills and outdoor chairs and tables are available for Iron Horse guests. There is an attractive gazebo adjacent to a pond, with a brook running through the property.The Winter Park area is a great place to escape the heat of the summer, while engaging in a range of casual to extreme outdoor activities. Great hiking, biking, and running trails abound, for all levels of personal fitness – with easy access from Iron Horse. The area offers opportunities for nature hikes, wildlife viewing, and photography. The base area of Winter Park offers chair lift rides and chair lifts for exciting, hair-raising mountain biking, as well as miniature golf, disc golf, climbing walls, and the longest Alpine Slide in the state. Several excellent golf courses are nearby, giving golfers a chance to hit the longest drives in their lives, since the altitude is over 9,000 feet! Water-related sports and activities include boating, sailing, river rafting, kayaking, fresh water fishing, ice fishing, fly fishing, and hot springs pools. Hiking, horseback riding, rock climbing are available. A new bowling alley and 2-plex movie theater – The Foundry – opened in Winter Park in July 2012. Rocky Mountain National Park is nearby offering additional hiking, sightseeing, stream and lake fishing, nature and wildlife viewing, picnics, and other outdoor activities. At an elevation of almost two miles, Winter Park is a great summertime destination for activities ranging from EXTREME relaxation to EXTREME workouts – which could include training at high altitude in order to achieve a personal best in a 10K run, biking events, a triathlon, half marathon, marathon or ultramarathon – especially for events that are held at lower altitudes!
