This unique property was actually the town social club in the 1930’s! In the ’70’s it became a mainstay of the Boothbay YMCA before being divided into two residential apartments in the 1980’s.The location is minutes to area attractions like the Coastal Maine Botanical Gardens, the Maine State Aquarium, and the Boothbay Harbor, yet the Social Club is removed from the bustle of tourist noise, allowing guests to enjoy the best of both worlds.Our dock in the Damariscotta River is a short walk around a bend in the street and down a neighbor’s driveway. You will have access to launch your kayaks, tie up your boat, or just dip your toes in the water and watch for seals!The sizable kitchen is fully equipped, including specialty lobster and oyster utensils. There’s plenty of seating and space for dining and relaxing after a day of fun. Outside you will find a grill, a dining space, and that beautiful river view.Watch your little ones perform for an appreciative audience on the Social Club stage, take in sunshine and river views on the multiple decks and patios, read a book/work a puzzle/play a game in the River Room (also with river views, of course). Login to the smart TV and watch your favorite streaming services. There is also a BluRay player available (sorry, no cable/satellite).Please note that this property does not have air conditioning. Due to the mild summers, absence of a/c is common in the region. When it’s warm we usually turn on ceiling fans and open the windows and enjoy a nice breeze. We also provide portable fans.The apartment features 2 full bathrooms, 3 bedrooms, and can accommodate up to six overnight guests.Need more space? Book the entire Social Club as a two-story unit for groups up to 10. Smaller group? Check out our upstairs apartment!
