Description

Welcome! Our home is your home! When you arrive, you will be greeted with a phenomenal view of the surrounding mountain ranges and Vermont landscape. Each day you’ll wake to the sun rising behind these mountains, viewable from most rooms in our home.First and arguably most important: the kitchen! You’ll find everything you need to prepare delicious meals, coffee, tea, and more. We provide a hot kettle, several ways to brew coffee (Moka pot, pour over, and drip), a stove top oven, microwave, and many more appliances and kitchen utensils. The star of the show, though, is our waffle maker! We’ll provide you waffle mix and syrup, so all you need to do is wake up and get cooking 🙂 Our dining room has enough seating for 8, so whether you want to have a formal dinner, eat in the kitchen, or out in the screened porch while looking out at Camel’s Hump, you’ll have options!Catch up with family and friends or find some peace and quiet while reading a book in our living room with comfy seating. Share stories while passing the time this winter and keep cozy with our gas fireplace in the living room. If you’re feeling a movie or show, there’s a separate room for the TV. It’s equipped with most streaming apps and standard cable (Hulu Live). Games are provided in the credenza in the TV room as well. When you’re ready to crash for the night, you’ll find 4 main bedrooms, each with cozy bedding on queen beds. The main bedroom has an en suite bathroom and plenty of space to spread out. There’s a second full bath located in the upstairs hallway available to you as well. We do have a 5th spare bedroom that is available upon request. Though we typically have a capacity of 8, we can accommodate up to 10 people with this spare bedroom, and will cost an additional $75 per guest per night. For music, we do have a Bose CD player and radio, or simply connect by Bluetooth to stream anything you enjoy. We sit on 22 acres of land with expansive mountain views. There are miles of walking and cross country trails right outside our front and back door. No need to drive anywhere! If you need help with ideas of where to hike or walk, please let us know and we can point you in the right direction :)We are about 15 minutes from Burlington International Airport. Downtown Burlington, with all its restaurants, music scene, cafes and shops, is a short 20 minute drive. Middlebury is 45 minutes driving and there are many hip towns in between. We are 30 minutes to the closest ski resorts (Mad River Glen and Bolton) and the larger resorts (Sugarbush and Stowe) are 45-55 minutes away. Lake Champlain is 15 minutes away, as well as Farms, which we highly recommend visiting. If coming in the winter time, free cross country skiing can be accessed right out our front door. If coming in the summer and want to bring a boat, there is plenty of room in our circular drive to park it if you’d like to spend the days cruising the lake. You can also readily rent boats at Lake Champlain. Here in Hinesburg, we have hiking and snowshoeing galore, swimming holes, fabulous restaurants, pizza, grocery stores, micro-brews and take outs. If coming during late February or early March, we have many sugaring farms nearby that are packed with activities and lots of maple syrup! We have recently renovated the basement of the home and stay down there when hosting guests (when we are not traveling). It has it’s own entrance and we won’t be disturbing you at all during your stay. However, if you should need anything, we won’t be far and are more than happy to help out in any way we can. Really – truly – this does not interfere in any way with your fun, as our 5 star reviews attest to. We want people to come and enjoy the house to it’s fullest. And please note we have 2 very friendly, large dogs on the premises. It may be that you are also greeted by them, and they are sweet as can be. If you have any allergies to dogs or any other concerns, please let us know and we will be sure to accommodate your needs as best as we can. There will be a few closets that are padlocked and we ask you to not attempt to enter those. The freestanding cherry dresser in the kitchen, the bottom of the red corner cabinet in the sitting area off the kitchen, the corner cupboard in the living room are not for guest use.As mentioned, we have two lovable and energetic dogs. They stay with us in the apartment when we have guests in the house. Winnie and Alfie have electric collars and roam freely around the circumference of the house. They do not have access to the parking circle. If you are not a “dog person” it is best to find alternate accommodation. The house is professionally cleaned the morning guests arrive, and our house has wooden floors and tiles throughout the first floor, but if you have severe allergies to dogs, it would be best to find alternative accommodation. We have LOTS of games and books for your enjoyment. We do NOT have regular television, but do have an apple box with mirroring, as well as Netflix, PBS, Amazon Prime and HBO.
