You can hop on the Dash Bus just a few feet from the front door in both directions.WMAT Bus: If you were to take a WMAT bus which travels around Northern VA and DC, you would have to either use your phone, acquire a smartrip card, or have exact change on the bus itself.Metro: We are located a little less than a mile from the King Street Metro Station and a little over 1 mile to the Braddock Street Station. There is a bus stop nearby for the free Alexandria city bus (Dash) that runs directly to the Metro stop. {Trains: Blue and Yellow Lines}. It would take you less than 5 mins by car and probably 15-20 mins to walk it if the weather was nice.Amtrak: Amtrak provides interstate travel and also has a stop at King Street. If headed north, the next stop after King Street is Union Station in Washington DC. Please check their website for schedules and available stops.King Street Trolley: You’re about 1 block to King street to pick up the Trolley. The King Street Trolley runs every 15 minutes between Alexandria City Hall/Market Square and the King St – Old Town Metrorail station from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m., seven days a week, including holidays.**There are also ample Uber and Lyft rides in the area.Please just let us know if you have any other questions.Thanks!Laurie and CollinThis home provides self check-in through a smart-lock located on the front entry door. Parallel parking is from the edge of our door to the edge of our garage. Large SUVs, full size trucks, and vans may be too large for this spot and we would please ask you be conscious of our neighbors and find parking elsewhere should your vehicle be too large. There is paid street parking available all over OldTown, download the Parkmobile app if you plan to park around town…although you can walk everywhere from here. You can open the garage from the inside once you’ve gained access to the home. Unfortunately, there is no garage door opener remote. There is a paid parking garage directly across the street and an open air lot about 2 blocks west on Cameron should you need additional parking.Cancellation Policy: Full refund for cancellations made within 48 hours of booking, if the check-in date is at least 14 days away. 50% refund for cancellations made at least 7 days before check-in. No refunds for cancellations made within 7 days of check-in. That said, Laurie and I understand things can happen. Should you need to cancel outside of your window and we are able to rebook, we always provide what we can back to the original guest to help out. It often depends on when the cancellation happens. If it’s closer to the reservation date, then it’s harder to book and we typically discount the property. In those instances we obviously may not be able to provide a full refund. In any case, know that we are always willing to try to work with our guests on issues that may come up.*Note about Credit card fees: Unfortunately we can not recoup these costs once processed. Please note, fees will be deducted from all refunds.
