Description
It feels like you’ve been upgraded to a 5-star hotel suite stepping into our newly decorated casita in one of Palm Springs’ most exclusive neighborhoods (El Mirador/Movie Colony). 10-min walk to downtown restaurants, nightlife, parks. This private suite features a king bed, living room with oversized sofa, 48″ HDTV, desk set up for laptop. Spacious marble bathroom has 2 sinks + oversized walk-in shower. Kitchenette includes fridge/freezer, coffee maker, microwave and sink. Private entrance. Spectacular views. Access to jacuzzi, pool, verdant yard.We call our suite Casita Caballeros because it feels like a modern take on a Spanish hacienda. You’ll enjoy a mix of colors and textures, including Saltillo and Talavera tiles throughout, designer furniture and rugs, a spacious bathroom with two sinks and giant walk-in shower. From the deep green, oasis-like, hedged backyard, take in expansive mountain views, watch palm trees sway or stars twinkle overhead as you relax on loungers next to our curvy, soothing saltwater Jacuzzi and pool. (We refrain from using the pool deck and backyard when guests are in residence, so it’s very private.)Working while you play? No problem. There’s a desk with a view set up for you with speedy eero wi-fi and power outlets. This is a no-smoking property. Absolutely no smoking is allowed indoors or outdoors near open doors or windows.Breakfast! During your stay, we’ll provide one free continental breakfast for two, delivered to the casita on a tray. You pick the morning (and the time) and we’ll deliver! Typical breakfast includes: warm breads or pastries, fresh fruit, yogurt, meat & cheese plate, butter, jam, orange juice and freshly brewed dark roast coffee. Or you can opt for Chris’ famous McGinnis McMuffin full of cheesy, bacon-y goodness :)Enjoy fresh ground coffee, teas and a selection of complimentary beverages stocked in the kitchenette refrigerator. We provide a coffee maker, toaster, kettle and microwave for snacks, but don’t offer cooking facilities. (Palm Springs has recently turned into a foodie town, and we are happy to provide restaurant recommendations and opinions in person or via my restaurant review blog, The Desert Diner. Ask us to email or text you the URL. )During winter months, step outside your door and pluck ripe Meyer lemons from our tree- they are perfect for lemonade, lemon drop cocktails, or souvenirs to bring home. (Or you can apply the juice to your hair for a blondie desert glow!)The 48-inch Samsung HDTV is set up with YouTubeTV, Netflix, Prime Video, HBOMax and more. It’s mounted on a swivel for easy viewing from the bed or living room. There’s also an Alexa Echo device in the room, which you can use to play music, or ask questions. You can also unplug it if you wish. From November to April we can heat the pool to 85 degrees F for an additional fee of $75 per day with a three-day minimum. Heating the Jacuzzi is complimentary. Both are serviced twice weekly on Tuesday and Friday mornings. Yard service comes on Thursday afternoons.Cameras and security: To protect our property and our guests, we have three exterior security cameras that are always on, located at the front gate of our property, along the lighted, private pathway to the casita and in the back yard. We provide guests with keys to lock the pathway gate to the street as well as to the casita door (there is only one entry).Tree-shaded parking is available on the quiet, low traffic street in front of our house. There is only one casita on our property. Casita guests have full access to the casita, back yard and pool/jacuzzi deck, which we refrain from using while guests are in residence. The covered patio areas adjacent to our residence are off limits to guests. We hate final bill extras, so our price INCLUDES 12.5% Palm Springs city taxes- it won’t show up as an extra on your bill.Palm Springs License number 1565
