Texas character at its finest.l!NEW 2023 Buffalo Lodge now has an outdoor fire pit with 4 Adirondack chairs.We have two cabins here on over 6 private acres, and can accommodate larger groups, 8 guests total, when our second cabin (Rider’s Roost), is also rented.NOTE: This cabin is not suitable for children under age 12. We do not allow pets.Located on over six private acres, the inside of this 1100 square foot pioneer-style luxury cabin is filled with turn-of-the-century charm and modern comfort. A retreat for family or friends, or a romantic getaway. A bottle of champagne awaits, as well as breakfast and many other extra amenities. Here you can relax, recharge and unwind in the true spirit of the old west!The Hideout is private! There is only one other rental on the property, our stable quarters which your party can also rent to accommodate more guests.NEW 2021, we now have a double carport to protect your vehicle against the blazing hot sun, occasional summer hail storms, and winter ice and snow storms.We are closer to the state park than any other vacation rentals, truly! The floor plan is spacious with comfortable beds (no sofa beds to pull out), and no crowding. There are two dining tables, one inside and another on the screened in porch, so you can enjoy your BBQ without those pesky flies. Read on for cabin details…..The Cabin:Enter through the large screened porch. On the ground floor, enjoy a full kitchen. We provide all dishes, cookware, spices, condiments and everything you need for your first country breakfast, including eggs from our hens. There is a large dining table that seats 6 people, comfortable seating in the living area, and a wood burning stove for winter use (February only- we supply mesquite firewood), The KING size bed is on the ground floor, next to the bathroom. Up the spiral stairs, the loft has a TV/DVD, a full size double bed and a single twin bed. A roll-away bed is available should you want to sleep outside on the 300 sq. ft. screened-in porch. The cabin is also stocked with interesting books about the area and adult/children’s’ board games, and puzzles. There is a landline telephone and WiFi service.The luxury bath is large and is every woman’s dream, with an elegant claw foot tub and a crystal chandelier. We supply high end bubbles, bath bombs, English soap, facial mud masks, lotions, make-up removal towelettes, shampoo and conditioner. Also hair dryer with attachments and all paper goods such as cotton balls and Q -Tips. There is lots of space for everyone to keep their personal toiletries.From the front door you can see the large pond and the stable and paddock area. Our horses, Rosie, Gus, and Sassy and Lil’Bit are gentle and their company will really make you feel at home. Due to their age, we ask that guests not feed or pet them. If you’re traveling with your horses, contact us about accommodations and fees.- NOTE: We now have in the stable a stable loft quarters that has 2 Queen beds and an additional living area with large television and Netflix. There is also a kitchenette (microwave, crockpot, egg cooker, toaster, bacon cooker and coffee pot), with dining table at the stable. THE STABLE QUARTERS CAN BE BOOKED SEPARATELY AND SLEEPS AN ADDITIONAL 4 PEOPLE.. The stable quarters (Rider’s Roost), may be rented by another party. The stable quarters also has a 14×24 screened-in porch with large dining table, gliding sofa, 2 rocking chairs, large ice chest, propane fire pit and BBQ grill.You will love watching birds and local wildlife here at the Hideout. You may see songbirds, hawks, great horned owls, road runners, quail, deer, aoudads, feral hogs, bobcats, and be serenaded by coyotes. Stunning sunrises and sunsets are included.If you’re in the mood to explore, Palo Duro Canyon State Park is right there, and the entrance to this “Grand Canyon of Texas” is just a mile further up the road. Visitors explore by car, hiking, horseback, and bike (best mountain biking around). Right by the Park are Palo Duro Zip Line Adventures, Palo Duro Creek Ranch Jeeping tours, and Palo Duro Riding Stables. The musical drama TEXAS shows in the park’s outdoor amphitheater June through mid-August and is a must see! Let us know if we can assist you with planning any of these activities. We’re here to help and want your stay to be enjoyable and memorable.It’s about a fifteen minute jaunt to the city of Canyon where you’ll find the Panhandle Plains Historical Museum (the largest historical museum in the state of Texas). For restaurants, shopping, nightlife and live music, it’s about a half hour to Amarillo. Find cultural and sporting events, the famous Old Route 66, and the Cadillac Ranch (don’t forget to bring a can of spray paint). If you prefer to dine in Canyon, there are several great restaurants on the town square, such as Pepitos, Sayakamaryns and Palace Coffee. Bar Z Winery is also near by.Additional services include concierge, and equestrian visitors. Fees for additional services vary, so contact us about your needs.For your comfort and safety:Quiet Zone. This is a quiet zone and HOA restrictions apply. No parties , outdoor music, or events.Smoking. The inside of the cabin is a smoke-free zone. Smoking is OK on the screened porch, and a disposal container is provided.We do have a propane BBQ grill on site. We are located in a high fire danger zone. There are no outdoor fires allowed anywhere in the area.We DO NOT ALLOW PETS!!!!!Equine Inherent Risk Law. Rental of the property indicates that you have accepted the limits of our liability under Texas law for injury or death resulting from the inherent risks of equine activities.You may at times see our horses grazing on our neighbor’s property. Our neighbors are kind to allow us grazing access. However, guests are not allowed access to that land and trespassing violators would face penalties. Our guests must remain on our 6.5 acre property.Lastly, guests are required to ensure the main entrance gate remains closed at all times when entering and exiting the property. Also the smaller split rail fence directly in front of the cabin.We do not ship items left behind, so please don’t ask us to do this. All forgotten items will be donated to local charities.The property is a NO DRONE USE area.We do not allow swimming in the pond.
