If noise or being in the heart of a city bothers you this may not be the right fit. It is also closed off but is still attached to a full home, and is considered a duplex (sectioned off back of a whole house). If you are looking for a traditional Airbnb experience in a shared space, we would love to have you. If you are looking for extra privacy we suggest booking an entire house or cottage. There is a wall between the spaces of the the house so you have full privacy during your stay.You may see us from time to time doing yard work or walking to and from the front of the house. (Don’t be afraid to say hi!) The front of the house is rented to guests as well, so other guests will occupy the front section of the home during your stay. However, because of the nearness to the rest of the house, you might also hear the sound of talking or other day to day activities whilst inside the apartment from the other guests. Respect of quiet hours are requested from both sets of guests and are expected to be followed. We have done a great deal of sound proofing to ensure that this should not be an issue (double thick drywalled green glue noise proofing sealant has been established on all shared walls, and tested), however, if you experience any discomfort in the noise level please let us know.W E_D O_N O T_R E C O M M E N D_T H I S_S T A Y_I F:—————————————————————-The sound of traffic or being directly in a “city city” is bothersome to you. This house is located on a main street in Downtown Wilmington. While it may be convenient to getting to all the attractions Downtown has to offer, you will hear and see the hustle, bustle, and rumble of the street and city. There is a security camera on the porch and a sound machine is also provided. Two are on the property, located at the exterior front and back porch entryways which can record sound and are active during every stay to ensure all activity outside the home is safe.-You do not wish to share a wall with other persons. You may hear (inside and outside the house) or see other guests (outside the house) on occasion.-Controlling the temperature is important. There is no access to the controls because they still are responsible for the whole house. However, a small heater is provided and we are available 24/7 with remote thermostat access to adjust if asked.-Small spaces are uncomfortable to you. This space is very tiny-house inspired and there are a lot of unique layouts that you may find yourself in a less than spacious situation. The shower within the clawfoot tub space comfortably fits someone that is 6ft and may get tighter to navigate if you exceed this height. Accessibility is difficult with this shower design as well, please be mindful of this.-Quirky details are not your style. We have repurposed this home to be fun and an exciting experience so it is in no way a traditional space. There will be lights and other details that may be found annoying if this is something you do not wish to have on your stay.- A more rustic/vintage home is not your style. You will notice there are genuine original details within the space that we intentionally kept to maintain the historic and original beauty that it is.-You are traveling with children. This space is not childproof and there are exposed utensils, items, inappropriate sayings visible, and other items around the home that would be considered unsuitable for little ones to be around. So please be mindful that it is not perfect. For example, you may have to wait for the water to get hot for a shower, and it may take a minute or so to reach a comfortable temperature. All tile floors have a lot of what we like to call “incline/decline challenges” in addition to imperfections that we tried our best to salvage in the renovation process, and may be slippery when wet.We worked really hard on this space and created & designed everything you see.
