This adorable beach rental is located steps from the sand in Mission Beach! Just cross the street and you’re at the beach! Located in a quiet neighborhood away from the the crowds. We supply you with beach towels, beach chairs, sand toys, boogie boards and beach cruiser bikes! Garage parking & A/C included, both a rare luxury in this area.You will have access to a BBQ and two patio areas that are shared with the 5 other units of the complex. The other units are vacation rentals so feel free to say hello and make friends with your fellow travelers if you encounter them!This tiny cottage apartment is only 400 square feet and is great for 1 or 2 adults. (Or maybe 2 adults and 1 or 2 small kids). For guests with infants or toddlers, we can supply you with a pack and play and high chair upon request.This unit comes with access to 2 bikes for cruising down the boardwalk. Should you want to rent more bikes there is a bike rental shop a couple blocks away. (They also rent kid-sized bikes and baby seats if you need those too.) We do not supply bike helmets. By law, only minors are required to wear bike helmets. You may bring your own bike helmets or you may rent them at the rental shop.You have access to a coin operated washer/dryer that is shared by the other 5 units of the complex. Tenant access time is daily after 3 pm or before 10 am. (They are reserved for the housekeepers during the hours of 10 am-3 pm for the turnovers.)If you’d rather have your laundry done for you there is a laundromat within walking distance that offers drop-off service at an affordable weight based fee. You can just drop it off in the morning and they will have it ready and neatly folded for you by the end of the day.Want a private bonfire on the beach? We can connect you with a service that offers set up and take down, portable steel fire drum, roasting sticks, hot dogs, and s’mores.Are you into yoga? There is free beach yoga daily just a 5 minute walk from the property. No yoga mats are required. Just bring beach towels and water and you are all set. (It’s donation based so maybe bring some cash for the instructor. )Want professional pictures on the beach? What better backdrop for a group shot than the stunning backdrop of the ocean or bay at sunset! We can help arrange for an affordable local portrait photographer to do a photo session of your family or group on the beach. Let us know in advance if you’re interested and we can make connect you with the photographer during your stay.The unit is thoroughly cleaned between each stay. However if you wish for a cleaning and change of linens during your stay we can arrange for the housekeeper to come for an additional charge of the standard cleaning fee. If you have an early flight, you may stow your luggage at our office so you can go to lunch or hang out on the beach until check-in time. And if you have an afternoon flight on checkout day you may also stow luggage. Just coordinate these details with us and we are happy to accommodate.Before your stay, we are happy to suggest our favorite restaurants, and tourist attractions and will help you get acquainted with the area.The best thing about the neighborhood is that there is so much within walking distance that you may not need a car. You could just take a taxi from the airport (6 miles away), get dropped off here and you’re at the beach! We have local restaurants, trendy beach bars, excellent coffee spots, and breakfasts cafes all within a few short blocks. Sea World is just 3 miles away.The location is the best spot of all of Mission Beach. It is on the south side of Santa Clara Place (the only traffic light in North Mission Beach), which means a non commercial area. It is far enough (1 mile) north of the roller coaster area so it’s very removed from the tourist noise. It is off of the main boulevard with friendly neighbors and a quiet homey atmosphere.Recreational opportunities abound. This beach rental is a few minutes walking distance to Santa Clara point where there are numerous recreation activities and rentals available including: stand up paddle boards, kayaks, jet skis, windsurfing, catamarans, sail boats, water ski boats, and even jet packs. There are group classes and private lessons available in all of these activities. What’s more there are free yoga classes each day on the beach just two courts north.It is equally centered between Belmont Park (the roller coaster area) and Crystal Pier in Pacific Beach, which are both 1 mile away, making this location accessible to the action if that’s what you want.There is a fantastic surf spot at the beach for beginner to advanced surfers and great for spectators as well. There are affordable surf lessons offered daily in the beach by our friends at Surfari Surf School. What’s more, we can point you to all the best surf spots in San Diego County. And we have two world class board shapers who live on our block in case you want to get a new surf board while you are here.We offer self-check in with access to a digital door lock to make your arrival as easy as possible.Included with the rental is the use of beach cruiser bikes, boogie boards, beach towels, beach chairs, beach umbrellas, and sand toys for the kids. If you’ve never used this service before download the phone app and you may find a discount code for first-time riders online.Riding bikes along the boardwalk is usually the most scenic way to get around and take in the atmosphere. We provide 15% off for beach cruiser bicycles at a nearby rental shop just 3 blocks away that rents bikes by the hour, day, or the week. They also rent surfboards, wetsuits, standup paddle boards and a lot of other fun beach equipment.There is also a bus stop a few yards away that travels down Mission Blvd and will take you to Old Town in minutes. At Old Town there is a major transportation hub where you can transfer to any other bus line or transfer to the Trolley (San Diego’s metro line) which will take you downtown.Car Rental vs. Uber – The cost to Uber to downtown is way less expensive then to rent a daily car then pay $30+ to park not to mention spend 15+ minutes trying to find that parking spot which usually winds up being a 5 to 10 minute walk from your downtown destination. Uber usually cost $15 each way which of course will drop you off right in front.
