Thank you for understanding.The back entry gate will be shared with the guests staying in the back unit over the garage, which is also a vacation rental. Feel free to say hello and make friends with your fellow travelers if you encounter them! (If you ever want to return with a bigger group and wish to rent both units please let us know. The back unit is a 1 bedroom with a sofa bed and sleeps 4.)You will have access to a laundry room with a washer/dryer that is shared with the other unit. On days in which the other unit has a turnover, the washer/dryer may potentially be used by the housekeeper (between the hours of 10 am -3 pm).And, if you’d rather have your laundry done for you there is a laundromat within walking distance that offers drop-off service at an affordable weight based fee. You can just drop it off in the morning and they will have it ready and neatly folded for you by the end of the day.Please note, that the garage is a VERY tight fit for most vehicles and the smaller the car the easier of a time you will have. If the car is a compact to midsize it will usually fit, including compact SUV’s like the Honda CR-V. But it it is any longer or taller, (such as a full-size SUV or truck) you will not be able fit in the garage. We recommend unloading your car before parking in the garage because your car doors will not be able to open very wide inside the garage. (We are sorry about the garage size, but Mission Beach has very narrow alleys and narrow lots, making for small garages. Unfortunately, you will find this same problem at most properties you rent here at the beach.)We can hook you up with a private bonfire on the beach for an extra fee. Includes set up and take down, portable steel fire drum, roasting sticks, hot dogs, and s’mores. A perfect activity while waiting for the nightly summer Sea World fireworks over the bay. Inquire for details.Want family pictures on the beach? What better backdrop for a group shot than the stunning backdrop of the ocean or bay at sunset! For an extra fee we can arrange for a local portrait photographer to do a photo session of your family on the beach. Let us know in advanced if you’re interested and we can make an appointment with the photographer during your stay.The beach cottage is thoroughly cleaned between each stay. However if you wish for a cleaning and change of linens during your stay we can arrange for the housekeeper to come for an additional charge of the standard cleaning fee. You could just take a taxi from the airport (6 miles away), get dropped off here and you’re at the beach! We have local restaurants, trendy beach bars, excellent coffee spots, and breakfasts cafes all within a few short blocks. Sea World is just 3 miles away.The location is the best spot of all of Mission Beach. It is on the south side of Santa Clara Place (the only traffic light in North Mission Beach), which means a non district area. It is far enough (1 mile) north of the roller coaster area so it’s very removed from the tourist noise. It is off of the main boulevard with friendly neighbors and a quiet homey atmosphere.Recreational opportunities abound. This beach house is within walking distance to Santa Clara point where there are numerous recreation activities and rentals available including: stand up paddle boards, kayaks, jet skis, windsurfing, catamarans, sail boats, water ski boats, and even jet packs. There are group classes and private lessons available in all of these activities. What’s more there are free yoga classes each day on the beach and two courts north.It is equally centered between Belmont Park (the roller coaster area) and Crystal Pier in Pacific Beach, which are both 1 mile away, making this location removed from the tourist noise but yet accessible to the action if that’s what you want.There is a fantastic surf spot at the beach out front for beginners to the advanced surfer and great for the spectator as well. There are affordable surf lessons offered daily in the beach right out in front by our friends at Surfari Surf School. What’s more, we can point you to all the best surf spots in San Diego County. And we have two world class board shapers who live on our block in case you want to get a new surf board while you are here.We offer keyless digital entry and you will have private access to the beach house. Walk in either direction (West or East) and you’ll encounter pristine white beaches. Both sides have wide boardwalks for bicycle riding or walking. On the bay-side you’ll enjoy a relaxing sail bay with a calm atmosphere, while on the ocean-side you’ll enjoy ocean waves for surfing and a lively beach scene. Either way, you’ll call it paradise.
