The property is one of two three-story townhomes in the original Three Cod Tavern (built in 1680) which served Marblehead’s sailors since before the revolutionary war. The building is Marblehead’s oldest surviving structure and is located in the historic core of what might be the country’s most adorable and walkable village.The building was extensively remodeled in 2012 and features views of marblehead harbor, a lovely home office with harbor and village views, an expansive primary bedroom suite, deeded on-site parking space, an eclectic mix of mostly modern furniture, a modern kitchen equipped with a Bertazzoni oven/range, and a whole house Sonos music system.Legend has it that a cannonball was fired at the property after a drunken dispute between British and colonial sailors. The cannonball may be buried somewhere in the property.
