This cabin is located within the Pictured Rocks National Forest. With Grand Marais less than 30 minutes to your East and Munising 15 minutes to the West, the location could not be more ideal for the outdoor adventurer. Its location and atmosphere allow for a quiet evening in after a long day of adventures.Woodland Retreat is walking distance from the Melstrand Union General Store where you can purchase gas, sandwhiches, ice cream (seasonally), pasties, and some of the best home baked goods you can find in the UP!Whether your passion is hiking, fishing, ATVs, snowmobiles, photography, or just need the opportunity to de-stress surrounded by nature, we have the perfect place for you.It seems silly to have to add this, but we feel it is necessary. If you do not like wildlife, this is not the ideal location for you. If you are looking for an upscale Lodge type atmosphere, we are not the cabin for you. If you do not believe in keeping your dog on a leash, we would rather you stayed elsewhere (the cabin is on a semi busy road and we like dogs a lot and would be devastated if you lost yours that way). The cabin is older, it is cleaned after every guest with great care, but it is older. Yes, we have Wi-Fi, but occasionally mother nature and the powers that be slow it down or disable it. We recently installed a smart tv so you and your family can stream Disney + or Netflix on rainy or snowy days. This is a cabin, in the middle of Michigan’s Upper Peninsula, this large piece of property is shared with some geese, some parrots, a couple dogs, and their people. You will hear them. You may see them walking past occasionally. They will tell us how many people actually checked in and they do know how many guests you booked for. If you are looking to experience Pictured Rocks and the UP it is a great place to stay and we look forward to having you!
