Vacation Rental-Saranac Lake – vintage Adirondack cabin open Spring/Summer/FallFurnished Full Screened Porch, deck and dockCabin Measures: 25 feet x 25 feetOutside deck with picnic tablePrivate DockElectricityAmidst forested preserve overlooking the waterThis classic Adirondack Cabin rental is a pet friendly vacation rental located on Kiwassa Outlet just 3 miles from Saranac Lake with a deck and is suitable for 4-5 people.The Convenient Kitchen is fully equipped with a gas stove/oven, refrigerator, coffeemaker, toaster oven, sink, cooking utensils, flatware and dishes (service for 5).The Living/Dining Area has a picture window facing the front of the cabin with a view of the water. It has a loveseat, dresser, large table with chairs. There is an electric monitor heater and wood stove to provide heat & ambience.The Two Bedrooms each have a double bed including mattress covers and pillows (you’ll need to bring your own linens, blankets & towels).The Bathroom has a toilet, sink and shower stall. This Adirondack cabin rental also has an outhouse that can be used as a ‘second bathroom’.Linens, cleaning, etc…Cabin is a housekeeping cabin rental which means there is no maid service. Guests bring their own linens, towels, blankets, etc. Guests must leave the cabin as they found it, otherwise the security deposit will be forfeited.Pet PolicyBefore your stay, you must notify us that you will be bringing your pet or your reservation may be considered void upon arrival. All guests must read and agree to the owner’s pet policy.Up for an Adirondack Adventure?After, during or apart from your stay, take a canoe/camping trip. Park your car at the cabin property and transportation will be arranged for you, your gear, including canoe/kayak, at Lower or Middle Saranac Lake where camping is available on an Adirondack island. At that point, your adventure will begin! Navigate your way back to Kiwassa Lake through the Lower Saranac Lake locks including, if you desire, a night camping during your trek back. Camping will need to be arranged by you but if you are interested, we can direct you to the reservation site.What to bringThe property is amidst 20+ wooded Adirondack acres. It is wise to bring flashlights and sneakers as the path to the cabin is naturally wooded. Other items: binoculars for the beautiful scenery, hiking/boating gear, food, linens (except pillows), charcoal if you plan to grill, games or books for entertainment (no TVs).Internet and Cell phonesDue to the Adirondack wooded preserve, Internet and cell phones may not be accessible at your cabin. However, the nearby property and greens are WiFi compatible. Feel free to bring your laptop and set up on the porch (or on a cozy Adirondack chair on the main lawn area).The AreaThe property is located on Lake Kiwassa Kiwassa Outlet, 3 miles by paved road from the Village of Saranac Lake, which has supermarkets, restaurants, sporting goods stores, Adirondack gift shops, taxis, churches, garages, banks, golf courses, tennis, basketball courts, hiking trails, and Laundromats.The WaterwaysFrom the property you are able to travel by boat, to the Village of Saranac Lake. You may also enjoy a waterway trip 40 miles through scenic Adirondack lakes, ponds, rivers, streams, and go through State locks into the Adirondack State Preserve. Adirondack lake stream fishing for trout, bass, perch, northern pike, whitefish and panfish is available as well.The Other StuffNot far away are the Adirondack Mountain attractions such as Whiteface Mountain and chairlift, the North Pole, Great Escape Adventure Park, Ausable Chasm, Adirondack Museum, the Olympic Center and the Lake Placid Village, Six Nations Indian Museum and the N.Y. Our operations will undoubtedly change and we appreciate your patience and consideration in advance.Our Expectations of GuestsTaking CareWe are a small family business simply trying to navigate what the new normal is while also trying to maintain the health of our guests and ourselves. We expect that our guests have taken great care and precaution, as we have, to self-quarantine and social distance. We know the Adirondacks is beloved to many which is why we’re opening our doors in a limited way. We will welcome guests who have self-quarantined prior to arrival for 14 days and who are feeling well and healthy. We expect our guests to be honest – that they have not come into contact with anyone that has had active COVID-19. Our cabins host 8 or fewer people. Only one cabin will be rented to each party. We will disallow congregating in groups of more than 10. This restriction may ease later in the summer. If you do not feel you can meet these expectations, please cancel your reservation.FAQ*****Do I need to wear a face covering? Face coverings must be worn when in public areas such as the WiFI porch, in our local grocery stores, etc. We will wear them as well. A face mask can be purchased from us.*****Can I check in early or have a late departure? We are sorry we can not honor any early arrivals or late departures this season. For guests who launch a boat off-property on their day of arrival, you may park your car and boat trailer at the top of our property – to arrange permission for this, please contact us 24 hours in advance of your arrival. For guests without a boat, we highly recommend you make your travel arrangements in conjunction with an outdoor activity along the way to allow you to abide by our later check-in. If you’d like, we can contact you when your cabin is available.*****Are the lakes “open”? Yes, lakes are “open”. From Kiwassa Lake (where you’ll be), you may travel to several lakes and into the Village of Saranac Lake. If you’d like to travel to Lower Saranac Lake, you may go through the Lower Locks (manual system available until they open later this year; for current status, contact the NYS DEC.*****What do I need to know about hiking trails?Please wear a face mask and understand that trail heads and parking may be limited. However, recreation is still encouraged/essential and you’ll find lots of tips/information atGuidance from ADK Mountain Club -*****Can I get a fishing license? Our local shops are still selling fishing licenses. Check with Blue Line Sports shop or Woods & Waters, both in Saranac Lake.*****Will the farmer’s markets be available? Yes.*****Can I rent a bicycle? Please contact Human Power Planet Earth bike shop. Reservations are required.*****Are area restaurants and shops open? Yes, many restaurants are doing take-out in Saranac Lake and Lake Placid. Guests should not expect a normal dining experience but should instead enjoy the tranquility of our cabin and property. Most shops are operating at reduced capacity, though and require a face covering.
