Description

3739 Amberjack CourtWelcome to Coastal Getaways most recent rental. One of the original proverbial beach houses on Seabrook Island this classic vintage home has stood the test of time yet the view remains unchanged and just as breathtaking as when the house went up in the 70s. The living areas, primary suite and work loft have jaw-dropping views while the three remaining bedrooms glimpse the ocean over the garden hedge which frames the space between land and sea. Imagine waking up in the morning and sipping coffee while you gaze out to the ocean and falling asleep each evening to the sound of rolling waves. Sit on any of the multiple decks and watch the sun rise in the east. As the sun sets in the evening be mezmerized as the sky turns beautiful pinks and oranges! A stepping stone path can take one over the rocks and onto the sand in a flash and for those carrying the beach gear, the beach path and broad walk are adjacent to the property. From garden to beach is a matter of a few short steps. At high tide one will feel as though the water is all but licking your toes as the waves become an increasing background beat to your holiday. Access to the variety of offerings at the Seabrook Island’s Beach Club pools, Pelican’s Nest for lunch or dinner, or to the Seabrook Island Club’s two championship golf courses is merely a short walk away, but a breeze on a bike,Unlike so many of the newer homes on the island, this home is built at sand level dating it to pre-stilt era and making unpacking the car that much easier. Glass front doors open into a tiled entry. This is the perfect spot to leave your cares behind and deposit your shoes and beach gear. This level houses the laundry closet, with full size washer and dryer, stand alone half bath and an updated shower room. From the ground floor level access the garden, the rustic outdoor shower and paths to the beach, as well as storage for beach chairs and equipment on hooks under the deck. Head up six steps to the home’s first floor. There are three guest bedrooms on this level. A secondary suite has a queen bed and a private bath with a tub/shower combo. A feature of this suite is double glass doors on either side, one leading to a small private deck with loungers, the other set facing into a tree as old as the house. There are two additional guest bedrooms each with two twin beds. Televisions are in all of the bedrooms. The two twin bedrooms share the full bath in the hall. All of the guest bedrooms have decks with outdoor seating and stairs leading from the twin bedroom deck to the garden. In keeping with many of the houses of the era much of the layout is staggered making for different levels for sleeping and eating which gives the house a light feel and provides opportunity for privacy. Six steps take one from bedrooms to the main living area of the home. This level has sweeping panoramic ocean views from walls of windows and is flooded with light. The great room has a Smart TV and comfortable furniture. The double sided fireplace is decorative serving to split the sitting room from the cozy dining room with a rustic table seating 8. Both rooms have sliding doors which lead out to a wrap around deck. Much of your vacation time will be spent on this deck where the ocean breeze makes being outdoors on even the hottest summer day tolerable. Two chaises invite you to relax and gaze out over the beautifully landscaped garden at the horizon. There is an outdoor table seating 8 providing simply staggering views and amazement at the pelican flight path overhead . A propane grill is on a sheltered level to the side of the deck. The kitchen is functional and compact, managing in a small space to house all the appliances necessary for culinary creation. Kitchen closets are original to the house and have been painted in keeping with the simple, low key aesthetic of the house where the accent is firmly on casual beach living having left all airs and graces behind. All stainless steel applianceshave been replaced within the past 5 years. Hovering above the sitting room is a loft with a work space and giant arm chair. The view is panoramic and worth ascending the steep ships ladder to access the birds-eye view of the Carolina Coast. If the crowd has gone to the beach this is the spot to steal a stolen moment hovering above it allThe generously sized primary suite with king bed sits alone a further 6 stairs above and enjoys a deck which runs the length of the rectangular room accessed by two sets of sliding doors. It is a bright space with yet again mesmerizing views..A small desk, ample drawer and closet space as well as a seating area make for a compelling argument to spend the day sequestered away on the top floor. In keeping with 70s era, the small bathroom has been kept as purely functional with shower tub combo. A separate vanity area with basin extends the facility. All bathrooms have been maintained to be functional without the frills. The character of the house is low key, the perfect backdrop to the definition of a beach holiday. This is a place which you will leave feeling as though each day the sea played the biggest role on the roster, whether you choose to be in it, close to it or looking at it.The owners have provided beach chairs for their guests.Seabrook Island Property Association (SIPOA) has started charging for all gate passes.Gate passes are $45/ vehicle.
