Description

The Wharf House is a historical home located on beautiful, serene Hancock Point – but unlike many Maine vacation homes, it is fully renovated and offers all the conveniences of a modern home — all the while you are enjoying the rustic beauty of Maine and its spectacular summers. The Wharf House – with its many windows and skylights — is light and airy (with a vaulted ceiling in the kitchen and dining area) and has a modern open interior design.Perched on a small hill overlooking Frenchman Bay and Hancock Point Wharf, you will wake up to spectacular views of Schoodic Mountain (part of Acadia National Park), Frenchman Bay, the Hancock Point Wharf, and the many working and summer boats of Hancock Point.During the day you can watch the boats come in and out of the harbor, including the many lobster boats based at the Point. In the evening, you can retire on the front deck and gaze at gorgeous sunsets. Hancock Point Wharf is a working wharf that welcomes sailboats, kayaks and lobster fishermen. The kitchen is large, modern and fully equipped, and includes a large island for food prep and seating for 4. There is also a large dining area next to the kitchen with a dining room table that seats 8. The kitchen is completely stocked for simple or gourmet cooking. The first floor has a queen bedroom with a ceiling fan, storage and a large full bathroom with a tub/shower.On the first floor you will find the living room area with a large sectional sofa and a 50″TV (with firestick HDTV). There is also a large enclosed and heated sunroom area with a sofa and a table for playing cards or games. The sunroom faces Frenchman Bay though multiple windows and a large glass sliding door. Through the glass door is a large front deck with Adirondack chairs for people watching, or stargazing at night. The second floor has a master bedroom with a king-sized bed, and a full bathroom. The full bathroom includes a stacked washer/dryer.There is a large loft-style bedroom with 3 twin sized beds (including 1 set of bunkbeds).Within walking distance there are clay tennis courts, local restaurants, a local library, churches, hiking, biking and the famous “Carters Beach”.Rent a kayak or boat to use at the house, hunt for sea glass on the waterfront, or just lay out in the sun.Hancock Point and surrounding areas are part of a Frenchman Bay Conservancy. There are turtles, birds, and other natural wildlife to experience here, or just take a walk on the beaches at low tide to look for sea glass. You will truly appreciate the local saying “Maine, the Way Life Should Be” when you stay at the Wharf House on beautiful Hancock Point.Acadia National park, Winter Harbor, Schoodic Point and more are all within 15 mile drive from Hancock Point.
