You will be away from it all, surrounded by pine forest and sand roads. Walking distance to the ocean. Private raft.Home Details:- Our property is two houses joined together. We call one house the Big House and one house the Summer Side.- Private beach and raft on Great Pond- Sleeps 8 in bedrooms. There is a double futon in Summer Side living room for extra guests.- While almost a single level dwelling, there are 2-6 stairs at entrances and between roomsBig House: (fully insulated and heated for Fall/Winter)- Bedroom 1: King w/semi-ensuite bathroom- Bedroom 2: two twin beds and writing desk.- Bedroom 3: two twin beds- Multiple outdoor decks- Full kitchen- 1 full bathroom with tub/shower- 1 full bathroom with shower- Window A/C unit – window unit in King bedroom onlySummer Side House: (summer only)- Has a rustic cabin feeling, a cozy Cape Cod classic (exposed wood, open ceilings)- Bedroom: Queen- Double futon in Living Room- Outside shower – to rinse off the sun and sand!- Full kitchen- 1 half bath (sink and toilet). The shower on the Summer Side is OUTSIDE.- Window A/C units – window unit in bedroom only- Huge screened porch- Outdoor DeckBoth houses:- WIFI – due to secluded National Sea Shore Location, high speed internet is sometimes variable. (Guests have been successful with using cellphones to create a hotspot)- A table or desk with space for a laptop and a chair that’s comfortable to work in- Washer and Dryer- Private raft for swimming in Great Pond (from Memorial Day to Labor Day – may be longer but not guaranteed)- 2 kayaks, 2 paddle boards, canoe (from Memorial Day to Labor Day – may be longer but not guaranteed). The ‘Summer Side’ is the original cottage – full of Cape Cod charm and a huge screened-in porch. The ‘Big House’ was added in the 80’s. It is fully insulated / heated, has a window-lined living room and a gorgeous dining room that makes you feel you are eating outside. The 2 homes are connected by a hallway with a twin bedroom. Each home has private decks with views of the pond and a full kitchen. This lovely property is only one of three that are available to rent on Great Pond in the summer and the only one available to rent in the off season. Built by our family, this property has personal touches and a few Cape Cod quirks.Summer: This wonderful “two vacation homes as one” is available to rent in its entirety for any week. It is a perfect vacation spot for a large family, two families or a multigenerational family gathering. For those who love to swim, this home is a paradise. (May – September)Fall / Winter: Stay in the Big House, gaze at the water, walk the sand roads, and spy on our resident heron as you nestle by the fireplace. Enjoy the quiet of Wellfleet as it returns to its roots as a sleepy fishing village. The insulated/heated Big House is a 3 bedroom home. (October – May)
