Per the ordinance: No sound from the vacation rental home shall be audible from the parcel line during this time. Noise shall be minimized in order that it not be an unreasonable annoyance, disturbance or nuisance to neighbors.Lights Out: All exterior lights that are not needed for safety must be turned off between the hours of 10pm-7am, seven days a week. You will see signs on the front of all fire district stations, hear about it on the news, see it on social media and hear about it on the radio.Winter DrivingMany highways, access roads and/or driveways are steep in Tahoe/Truckee and may be icy in the winter. To ensure your safety, it is critical that during November 1st – April 30th brakes, windshield wipers, defroster, heater and exhaust system are in top condition. Tires need to be properly inflated and the tread must be in excellent condition. Always carry tire chains, even if driving an AWD/4WD vehicle. Make sure the chains are the proper size for your tires and are in working order. All outdoor tables, chairs and loungers are put into storage in the fall, in order to protect the furnishings from winter weather. Because bears no longer have a strong fear of humans, you may encounter bears during your spring, summer and fall stays. Feeding bears is illegal.
