Downtown Denver is a short 10-minute car ride away.You will notice that West Highland is an ideal jumping-off point for exploring Denver, Boulder, Rocky Mountain National Park, ski country, mountain towns, Colorado Springs, Garden of the Gods, and much more. One of the perks of staying here is the easy access to grocery stores and local eats.If you are headed Downtown, get oriented at Union Station, which has been reimagined as a cultural hub with cafes, art, and shopping. Locals head to Echo Mountain, Eldora (near Boulder), or Loveland (near Georgetown) for a more low-key experience. We’re also within a few hours of Arapahoe Basin, Breckenridge, Copper Mountain, and other snowy delights. There is a Nordic center near Breck if you want to try out cross-country skiing, and the summer months are a great time to rent a kayak to explore Dillon Reservoir.In short, this is the perfect jumping-off point for exploring the best of Denver and the Rockies! Grab a B-Cycle and get pedaling! For those without a car, we recommend utilizing Uber or Lyft. Premier attractions such as City Park, Denver Zoo, and Denver Botanic Gardens are a short, inexpensive ride away.The easiest way to get out and start exploring by car is to hop on I-70, the main East-West artery for Colorado. I-70 West will take you straight into the mountains. Red Rocks Park, Golden, Mount Evans, Idaho Springs, skiing, and all things alpine await you in the Rocky Mountains!Take the I-25 Northbound exit for Fort Collins (New Belgium Brewery, Colorado State University, etc.) or pick up the 36 toward Boulder (University of Colorado, Pearl Street, Chautauqua, and more). From Union Station, you can also change trains to get to a variety of destinations.If you’ve never been to Denver, it’s easy to get oriented. The Rocky Mountains are to the West, and Downtown is East of where you will be staying. I-70 West will take you into the mountains and straight to the ski areas, while I-70 East intersects with I-25 for access to Fort Collins to the North and Colorado Springs to the South.
