The home was made famous in the 1994 book “Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil” which was later turned into a movie, is based on real-life events and people who lived in the Mercer Williams House. Just across the square sits Congregation Mickve Israel. The Synagogue was erected in the 1870s and is home to the third-oldest Jewish congregation in America. Both Mercer-Williams House and Mickie Israel offer tours of these beautifully restored buildings.Guests will also be located only a short 20-25 minute drive to Tybee Island, Savannah’s beach.
