The Loggerhead turtles nest on this and nearby islands.Hunting Island, a state park, is two miles south and it is a favorite attraction for many Lowcountry visitors. There is a lighthouse and great trails to run or walk that keep cool during the summers due to Hunting Island’s beautiful tree canopy.Historic Downtown Beaufort is a must see! The town is a friendly, walking community with many boutiques and restaurants. The marina and waterfront is an easy place to take the family and enjoy ice cream or just stroll along the park.
